Wine Auction

Our 2nd OCMS Wine Auction fundraiser, part of the Society's ongoing fundraising initiative, at the Ottawa Marriott ballroom raised $30,000, up by $8000 from the previous year. Combined with the recent Online Auction a total of $60,000 will go towards supporting the Society's ongoing activities.
Wine connoisseurs were impressed with some of the rare and fine
vintages available. A Château Petrus (Pomerol) 1970 went for
$1000 and a bottle of Château d’Yquem 1975 went for
$900. Another exciting item up for bid simultaneously on both the
OCMS’ Online and Wine Auctions was a one-week stay in a two
bedroom house at L'Amélie Plage in the Médoc (about
90 K north west of Bordeaux) went for $1950 to a happy Wine Auction
bidder.

Lead auctioneer Dennis Saikaley along with guest auctioneers John Lacharity, Jim Watson, Margo Roston, Lawrence Greenspon and Sandra Abma, kept a fun and lively pace.
