The Ottawa International Chamber Music Society welcomes all accredited media to its concerts, and we will do our best to ensure you have access to venues and musicians, as required.
However, a chamber music concert is a very intimate relationship between the musicians and their audiences. Before and during a performance, musicians are in deep concentration. So any interruption or movement will distract them and can disrupt the recital.
While we understand the pressures and time constraints of working to tight deadlines, we ask that you read and follow these guidelines.

To arrange an interview please contact
kstaubin@chamberfest.com, or call (613) 234-8008, Ex. 244. Feel free to use biographies and photographs, provided that you credit the OCMS and the photographer respectively.
-
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your interview, and ask an OCMS staff member or volunteer to contact your media relations officer.
Bear in mind that the minutes leading up to a concert are our most hectic moments. And that musicians may not want to be interviewed immediately before their performance, making it difficult to arrange last-minute interviews. This is why we suggest you book interviews in advance (see 1 above).
-
Should you require photos of the musicians in performance it is essential that you:
- Do not block the view for our audience: crouch below their line of vision if necessary.
- Do not use flash or lights during performances as they interfere with the concentration of musicians.
- Do not move up close to musicians while they are performing.
- Do not move around the auditorium/event space during performances. This is not only disruptive to musicians and audiences, but many of our concerts are broadcast live, or taped.
- Do use a silent camera. Clicking, or rewinding cameras, etc. is not permitted during performances.
- Only move from your position during a break in the performance. That is only once each piece of music is completed and the audience applauds: not between individual movements.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
