Winterlude

For more than 30 years, an affable group of six British chaps has been gathering accolades around the globe. Lauded as much for their adventurous programming as their flawless vocal technique, the King’s Singers have garnered a devoted following and the praise of critics everywhere. Whether singing a Renaissance madrigal or a Zulu lullaby, few a cappella groups are as comfortable as the King’s Singers, whose training in the English cathedral choir tradition affords them the confidence to tackle anything… and they do so superbly.

This concert is part of the 2007 Winterlude festivities and will also mark the 150th anniversary of the choice of the Capital.

“The concert was a hit by any standard. The performances were superb, the spoken introductions witty and the general presentation consummately entertaining.”

– Richard Todd, The Ottawa Citizen

Not merely in balance, but in intimate details, in phrasing, and that kind of breathing together that the best quartets achieve, their playing had all the marks of greatness.”
