Chamber Chats: At Home, Chez vous with host Eric Friesen

FREE Chats on Zoom

Chamber Chats: At Home, Chez vous, hosted by celebrated broadcaster/writer Eric Friesen, was developed as a way to stay connected during the COVID-19 pandemic. These 45-minute interactive episodes combine conversation with pre-recorded and live performances featuring guest artists and lecturers from all over the world. They provide artists with an opportunity to engage with audiences from the sanctuary of each performer and viewer’s individual homes. They also provide a vital means by which the Chamberfest community can support artists during this extended period of lost performance revenues.

Carissa Klopoushak welcomes beloved broadcaster Eric Friesen

Chamber Chats are back! Join us on Tuesday, November 22 at 2pm for the return of our famed free online interview series. Spend your afternoon with beloved chats host Eric Friesen and Chamberfest Artistic Director Carissa Klopoushak – this time with the script flipped! Eric will be our guest, sharing his favourite musical selections and telling stories from his many years working in – and living and breathing – arts and culture.

Eric Friesen is a veteran broadcaster, writer, and speaker on music and culture. He spent much of his life as a network music host and producer for CBC radio and Minnesota public radio (NPR), and as a network executive for both organizations. Since leaving the CBC at the end of 2008, Friesen has been busy serving a wide variety of major cultural organizations in Canada.

The chat … was very interesting and intimate. I have never had a chance to socially interact with musicians of this level and it was special to ask questions and get to know these talented people a little. It gave me a deeper appreciation for their music and influences. Thank you for this and I will definitely participate in more chats, and, encourage my friends and family to do so as well.
