Hinrich Alpers: Beethoven II
Making his long-anticipated return after his landmark performances at 2019’s Chamberfest, German pianist Hinrich Alpers continues his cycle of Beethoven’s solo piano sonatas. This program features the explosive Appassionata and lovely À Thérèse sonatas, performed by a musician who has quickly become a Chamberfest favourite.

New Music Now is a celebration of the breadth and vitality of today’s new classical culture. Explore the sonic range of today’s most creative musical minds at Chamberfest’s annual miniseries.
This series celebrates Canada’s world-class standard in chamber performance, featuring core string ensembles, solo piano, and opera amidst folk influences. Thanks to the generosity of Marina Kun (of Ottawa-based and internationally-loved Kun Shoulder Rests), these concerts take place at Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre.
Late-night concerts cross genres and art forms, pushing the boundaries of chamber music into Afro-Cuban influences, Slavic and Scandinavian folk tunes, and more.
Hosted by broadcaster Eric Friesen, Chamber Chats: Festival Edition features interactive interviews with festival musicians both online and in person.In-person attendance for Chamber Chats is available for passholders only! You will be asked to show your pass before entering this event.
