Adaptive Concert: Bel Canto Wind Quintet

Join us for a delightful afternoon of winds with Bel Canto!

The Bel Canto Quintet is Pascale Margely, flute; Celina Hawkins, oboe; Shauna Barker, clarinet; Benjamin Glossop, bassoon; and Olivier Brisson, French horn. They present formal concerts, concerts for schools and for special needs children in the Ottawa area. Bel Canto literally means “beautiful singing” in Italian, but we will be hearing beautiful wind instruments instead.

Chamberfest Adaptive Concerts are performances for people with sensory sensitivities and exceptionalities, including autistic and neurodivergent children and adults. Family and friends are welcomed into a concert experience that takes into account special considerations such as pre-concert visual aids, storytelling and flexible spaces for movement, ensuring a comfortable environment for all to be creative and have fun with the music. Everyone is welcome!

Presented in partnership with the Lotus Centre for Special Music Education.

Beechwood Sacred Space generously contributes its space in kind for all adaptive concert performances. Chamberfest’s partnerships with the Lotus Centre and Beechwood contribute significantly to its accessibility and inclusivity goals – thank you to our amazing partners!
