Chamberfest welcomes back former NAC Orchestra principal double bassist Joel Quarrington to bring Bach to the bass-ics! Recently appointed a Member of the Order of Canada for his contributions as a world-leading double bass player and respected educator, JUNO-award winning Quarrington recently embarked on a recording project of all J.S. Bach’s Cello Suites on the double bass.

On this programme, Quarrington will be performing J.S. Bach’s Second and Fourth Cello Suites, with Weinberg’s impressive Solo Sonata for Bass sandwiched in between. Virtuosity, a rich tonal palette, absolute control, crystalline clarity, and singing musicality – don’t miss this legendary bassist’s unique take on some of the world’s most beloved compositions.
