On May 2, 2025, I was welcomed as Ottawa Chamberfest’s new executive director at the French Embassy during a fundraising event. Exactly one year later, I write this message which follows another fundraising event at the French Embassy last week, on April 28th. Thank you to everyone who supported this event, making it one of many remarkable occasions within my first year!
Throughout my inaugural cycle of operations, I learned much about Ottawa Chamberfest while being embraced by donors, audiences, volunteers, the Board, and staff—each person showing support and encouragement as I ‘learned the ropes’. Personally, a highlight has been exploring multiple facets of chamber music through our programming, presented under Carissa’s mastery of curation.
As the team prepares for our upcoming summer festival, I am thrilled with patron’s initial feedback and excitement for forthcoming events. Audiences have truly embraced our 25/26 Concert Series and momentum is propelling us towards an engaging “Chamberfest 2026”.
Internally, we are developing our next strategic plan that incorporates a stimulating artistic vision. This important work by the Board, Carissa, and I will guide our operational framework and programming decisions. We are manifesting a future that truly welcomes the world to Ottawa Chamberfest while celebrating the excellence of artistry through cutting-edge chamber music!
Thank you for filling my first year with magnificent encounters and memories—there is so much more to come! And if we have yet to meet, I look forward to that occasion.
