Ottawa Chamberfest is teaming up with The Banff Centre to present Opera Pub in a new and inviting setting: Ottawa’s Alpha & Omega Gallery. Join us for a lighthearted and informal evening of opera and apéros. You’ll have the chance to wander the gallery with a glass in hand, and plenty of time to meet and mingle between sets. What’s more fun than opera and a glass of something chilled with friends?

“Opera Pubs are improvised, wild nights, the perfect introduction for newbies and a welcome break for opera vets who want to see something a little different,”  says Joel Ivany, of Against the Grain Theatre as well as Artistic Director of the Banff Centre. “Patrons can expect to hear some favourite arias and excerpts, ensemble numbers, and who knows? Maybe some music theatre as well.”

Opera Pub features performances by emerging artists from the Opera in the 21st Century: Don Giovanni, here from The Banff Centre in residency at the National Arts Centre this month alongside the production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. These artists are the future of opera, ready to step out of the wings and onto centre stage; catch them as they become rising stars!

Doors open at 7:30 PM, with the first performance just after 8:00 PM. We are offering a limited number of reserved seats for $30/ticket and a general admission ticket for $20. A cash bar and light snacks will be available for purchase. Parking is available nearby at the Byward Garage, 170 metres away. This facility has a level ground floor entrance and washrooms are accessible.
