Marat Mulyukov was born in Kazan, Russia and graduated with a Master’s and PhD in Performance from the Kazan State Conservatory. After ten years as principal oboe with the Kazan Opera and Ballet Orchestra, he emigrated to Montreal, Quebec.
In 2006, he completed a Master’s degree at the Université de Montréal, under the direction of Pierre-Vincent Plante. In 2012, he received an Artist Diploma from McGill University, under the direction of Ted Baskin.
Marat has distinguished himself in numerous competitions, including the Concours d’ensemble in 2004, where he won first prize.
He currently works for the Canadian Forces stationed with the Central Band in Ottawa, Ontario and plays with various local ensembles.
