Blake Pouliot & Mendelssohn’s Octet
Toronto-born violinist Blake Pouliot brings his internationally lauded artistry and youthful vigour to the Chamberfest stage for a programme of chamber music gems. In the first half, Pouliot will take the stage in a gust of superstar sparkle, joined by local piano giant David Jalbert. To close the evening, Blake will retake to the stage alongside the Ironwood Quartet and friends to perform the ultimate party piece of the string ensemble repertoire: Mendelssohn’s Octet for Strings.
No stranger to the spotlight, Pouliot had his orchestral debut at age 11 and has been performing internationally ever since. He was the Soloist-in-Residence of Orchestre Métropolitain with Yannick Nézet-Séguin and recently performed Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with the NAC Orchestra. This is sure to be an evening of lush, romantic harmonies and world-class collaboration.
