This is a rare opportunity for the public to tour the Embassy, an architectural masterpiece and symbol of the privileged relationship between France and Canada. The Embassy of France will open its doors to the public for Doors Open Ottawa, on Saturday 1 June 2024, from 9am to 5pm. Among the most outstanding pieces, you can admire the replica of the Vimy monument, sculpted by Louis Leygue, which pays tribute to the 60,000 Canadians who died in France during the First World War; the Ambassador’s office, and the large reception rooms or the Salon des Bouleaux (known as the Honourable George Vari Room), covered in birch bark.
