Jonathan Krehm

JONATHAN KREHM is the president of Wu’s Tai Chi Chuan Academy and of the International Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Federation. He is also the most senior Disciple of Grandmaster Wu Kwong Yu (Eddie). He is a past President of the Canadian Tai Qi Quan Federation. He has been a student and teacher at Wu’s Tai Chi Chuan Academy in Toronto since 1977. He has competed in tournaments in Canada, England, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Sweden and the USA over the past 30 yrs. He was Grand Champion of the Swedish Tai Chi Chuan Championships in 2006 and of the Singapore Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Championships in 2007. Besides his regular teaching in Toronto, he gives workshops and teaches in Greece, Tahiti, Ukraine, France, Madagascar, and the USA.

Jonathan is one of the most active chamber musicians in Toronto and plays clarinet. He had the good fortune to study with Harold Gomez, Abe Galper, and Yona Ettlinger. Jonathan has run a Toronto Chamber Music series Canzona Chamber Players for 20 years. Canzona Chamber Players programs exciting concerts with world class musicians including Yosuke Kawasaki, Jessica Linnebach, Wolfram Koessel, Jonathan Crow, Joseph Johnson and more. Each year Canzona Chamber Players organizes an orchestral memorial concert for Jonathan’s late daughter Elizabeth who passed away in 2012. The concerts raise money for the ICU at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto where Elizabeth spent the last 30 days of her life. These concerts have over the past decade have raised over $250,000 for the hospital.
