Cheng² Duo with James Campbell: Kindred Spirits
Chamberfest’s treasured siblings Bryan and Silvie Cheng return with a programme celebrating many of their favourite composers, including Ottawa’s Dinuk Wijeratne (Juno-nominated Portrait of an Imaginary Sibling), Sibelius, Grieg, and Sulkhan Tsintsadze. Since their 2011 Carnegie Hall debut, the artistry of these Ottawa prize-winners has left lasting impressions across the globe. Known for their impassioned expressivity and contagious joy, critics have hailed Cheng² Duo performances as brilliant, truly exhilarating, and “absolutely captivating…through a tremendous mastery of their instruments” (Pizzicato Magazine, Luxembourg). James Campbell joins the fun for Max Bruch’s Eight Pieces for Clarinet, Cello, and Piano, Op. 83. Campbell celebrates 40 years as Artistic Director of Festival of the Sound (Parry Sound, ON) this summer, and we are thrilled to toast his major milestone while marking our own.
